My Budget Expectations: - Increased and accelerated investment in Infrastructure spending like building roads, railways, power generation, ports, irrigation etc. Reintroduce 100% tax exempt Infrastructure Bonds.
- Focus on Rural Development: Revitalized post offices can play a stellar role in socio economic transformation. Low cost Housing Projects. Better connectivity, transportation and information kiosks to be set up at all the villages.
- Education: Aptly said, give your son a fish, he will eat today. Teach him how to fish and he eats everyday. At least one school upto 8th standard in every village.
- Agriculture: Provide farmers access to cheap credit facility. Interest relief to farmers who repay loans on schedule. Introduce Crop Insurance Scheme and Food Security Act in line with NREGS. Market rates for land to land acquired for industrial projects. Open Integrated Agro product centers in each taluka.
- Taxation: Introduction of GST. Limit subsidy to only needy and poor sections. Improvement in management of public finances. Removal of FBT and pension for Govt. employees. Simplification & Rationalization of all tax structure. Too many sections, plethora of exemptions depending on myriad options complicate matters.
- Social Security: Amend NPS. Bring incidence costs to near zero level. Fixed rate on interest of at least 10% for senior citizens and weaker sections. Cheap medical and health insurance benefit.
