Unveil your dream Budget 2009

Remove the 5% Customs Duty  on Plastic raw material import.

With its gaining a substantial mandate, UPA Government is now more open-minded to implement such industrial reforms which may produce in the quickest possible benefits for the teeming millions.

Unfortunately, the policy of Liberalization as ushered in as a panacea for all the ills has an adverse impact also in some cases. With a few major Plastic raw material producing Industries holding sway there is the problem of scarcity and the small and micro industries have to face on ordeal.

Our Industry's agony was so deep with that the Government of India offered a few sops like direct import of plastic raw material by small and micro industries  to overcome the situation.  But all this was just a flea-bite.  Hence the Govt. must focus on the following core issues.

i.                   The current Customs Duty@5% on plastic raw materials and Addl. Import Duty @4% should be removed.

ii.                 A Customs Duty @10% should be imposed on all the exports of plastic raw materials.

iii.              Excise Duty limit should be raised from its existing 1.5 Crore to 5 Crore.

iv.                An Integrated Petro Chemical Complex should be started for the Southern Region.
