Privatise PSU enterprises

Sir

Aviation sector of India are in deep waters today.  Specifically, Air India.  Apparently, Mr. Arvind Jadhav has sought a Rs. 15000 crore bailout package for Air India.  The government must not yield to this demand – instead, divest its stake in the airline and allow private businessmen to run the air carrier company.  Sops and subsidies are, at best, palliatives, not remedies.  Air India has had enough luxuries in the past.

We look forward to the government coming out with a comprehensive plan to privatize government run PSUs (Public sector units) and focus more on governance and administration.

Mr. Pranab Mukherjee must avoid populism in his budget like loan waivers for farmers or bonus for government employees.  We would like our netas to treat loans as receivables and not as freebies.

Regards
