Brief Profile; Chartered Accountant by qualification. Resigned from the membership after the Satyam Scandle. My dream of a good budget is for a pride of place in the society for the tax payer . Hope the honerable Finance Minister will introduce some provision in the Tax Act whereby the tax payer gets due recognition by getting the treatment of a honourable and worthy citizen. At present he gets harressed by the authorities & the society thinks that he is not smart enough to dodge the tax net. This attitude & perception must change as this will encourage more people to become tax payers. Though I have been a tax payer for over forty years, I have to go to a Gazzeted officer to get my age authenticated,to a corperator to get my address confirmed. Why can't my statement be taken at face value. This guy thinks he is doing me a favour & also expects gratification. On the other hand authentication by a tax payer will be more simple &they will also know who pays tax in the neighbourhood & its importance. so many such small things can be thought of which will enhance the status of the tax payer in the society & non payer that much second rate.
