In the current testing times, the Government needs to adapt proactive roll and help tax payers by trimming the Income Tax office.
The Finance Minister must be aware that it is next to impossible to get the tax returns. The Government and Income tax office can suggest so many methods but net result is dissatisfied tax payers. In fact Government can get the details of the Income Tax office the money due to tax payers.
My suggestion is to set off such dues against the subsequent years tax money. I am sure this will be welcomed by all and will be a great relief to the taxpayers. In this process there is no revenue loss to the Government. This will be a bonanza to the tax payers and directly reduces the burden
Hope the Finance Minister explores this and implement in this budget
