Exemption of Capital Gains Tax for Treatment of Handicapped Persons by sale of immovable property - reg

Dear Sir,

Kind Attention : Honorable Finance Minister

I appeal on behalf of many parents and children of handicapped persons who wish to be exempted from Capital Gains Tax so that they can sell an immovable property and use the money got from that sale for treatment of major disability like hearing impairment,  corrective surgery and other rehabilitative surgeries.

In my example, I have to spend about Rs.15 lakhs to 17 lakhs  for my daughter who is a profound hearing handicapped person. To rehabilitate and bring her to almost normal, I have to have her implanted with a Cochlear Implant device.  The cost of the device is about 9 lakhs to 13 lakhs, depending on the patient. The cost of operation is around 2 lakhs. The cost of Post operative care and follow up Speech Therapy for over a period of 2 years accumulates to 3 lakhs.

In this circumstance, I have to sell my immovable property and perform the rehabilitation operation. I hope and pray that all the persons concerned and particularly the Hon. Finance Minister and his department will give serious thought to this special category  so that many  handipped children like mine and many children whose parents are handicapped can benefit from such exemption.
Thanking you and look forward for your support in this above matter.

Regards
