Pre-budget expectations from Indian Hospitality Pvt. Ltd

Dear Sir,

Kindly find the pre-budget expectations from Indian Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.

Budget expectations: Quotes of Mr Jayant Mhaiskar, CMD, IHPL (Indian Hospitality Pvt Ltd) and promoter IRB Group.

Wish List is as follows:-

The Immediate hope was to get a stable government. With the new government, we expect the economy to work in much more liberal way.

As a need of the hour, public spending in infrastructure sectors such as roads and ports must go up, as they create employment.

Infrastructure, projects regarding cost housing units and employment are the key themes for this budget. The new government must help to stimulate adequate jobs.

The New government should bring more clarity on the policies such as those on SEZs and improve the turnaround time to approve NEW Projects.

Tax rationalization is the other top item on the wish list. Vat, cenvat cuts are expected to the larger extent and also the reduction in custom duties to various goods.

We expect the Nationalized Toll Policy and more focus on the Securitization of Toll-ways.

To promote the power generating companies' period of tax holiday should be extended after 30th March 2010.

As far as Hospitality sector is concern the upcoming tax- holidays are restricted to the Five-Star Hotel chains, which should be more liberal and should be extended for small joints/restaurants.

Most importantly government needs to take measures such as Interest Rate Cut and PSU disinvestment and some major steps for new sectors like LOGISTICS and IPR.
