  • Enhancement of limit of section 80D to at least Rs. 30000 from Rs. 15000 for self and family while keeping the additional limits for senior citizen constant.

  • Developing and implementing separate regulatory guidelines for pure health insurer. Pure health Insurer has specific business needs and the regulations should complement the same. This would surely encourage faster pace of growth in the sector.

  • The regulator's role of developing the Health Insurance sector in terms of awareness and distribution needs to be looked into with enhanced investment.

  • The budget on National Rural Health Commission on healthcare spending should be increased (presently Rs.10000 Crores) which would result in increase in the budgeted amount of RSBY scheme, resulting in providing HI cover to a larger poor population

  • Waiving off service tax from all Health Insurance products. More so for the Mass Health Products.

  • Minimum Share Capital Limit to be increased to at least Rs. 200 Cr.
