Concession/ Std Deduction for all PAN Card Holder

Sir,

I would like to bring to the notice of  Honbl'e Finance Minister before the Full budget for 2009 the following point:

 

"Inclusion of Standard Deduction of Rs 30000.00 per member against PAN card of dependent  of their spouse and family members. No dual Standard Deduction should be allowed."

 

Justification for the points are as follows:

 

1.                  During the world recession it is prudent that we Indians are also not immune to it, many members of the families have lost the jobs.

2.                  This may be a good time to increase the tax payers' base, i.e more and more people should be covered in the tax bracket by having PAN Card.

3.                  Housewives must also be benefited if they are not employed by way of giving additional Standard deduction to their spouse.

4.                  This move is intended to help spouse specially wives of Aam Aadmi.

5.                  I am sure that this will benefit only the lower middle class family where spouses are not a earning and earning members in a joint family are less.

6.                  It may improve the joint family concept to higher heights.
